The Stench of Severn Trent 💩
Sewage in the Streets — And Severn Trent Still Won’t Answer Questions
Friday 25 April 2025:
This is Windsor Lane — a residential road in Crowle, North Lincolnshire. That water? It’s not exactly rainwater. It’s raw sewage, left standing in an open trench for days.
Severn Trent Water left it like this. North Lincolnshire Council has said nothing. They won’t even look at it.
Meanwhile, residents have faced home damage, foul smells, and silence from the people meant to protect them.
That is genuinely vile — and not in a “mild inconvenience” way. We’re talking open, festering sewage at the bottom of what looks like a deep, narrow trench, in a residential street. It’s clear, it’s damning, and it absolutely backs everything the residents have been saying. Imagine being a parent walking past this, a dog walker, or a kid on a bike.
📌The Heras fencing is barely a fig leaf
No warning signage visible.
No clear covering or odour control measures.
No indication this has been addressed by environmental authorities.
📌This is a statutory nuisance under UK law
Public Health Act 1936 / Environmental Protection Act 1990
If it’s causing odour, attracting vermin/insects, or creating risk of harm, this can be reported to Environmental Health, and they’re legally obliged to investigate.
With warmer weather forecast, it now poses not just an odour problem, but a significant risk of insect-borne contamination and increased vermin activity.
This is in a residential area, with families and children living nearby. The environmental and public health risk is obvious — and entirely preventable.
This is not just an eyesore — it’s a health hazard brewing in plain sight.
