π¨ North Lincs Councillor Conflicts of Interest EXPOSED π¨
The reason why residents' voices have been ignored?
5 April 2025:
π’ Why havenβt our voices been heard? This may be why.
In February 2025, Crowle & Ealand Town Council sent out a newsletter reassuring residents that they were βscrutinisingβ the ongoing sewer and drainage works being carried out by Severn Trent, in partnership with the local drainage board and highways authority.
This same newsletter featured a photo of Cllrs Julie Reed and Ian Bint alongside Cllr Rob Waltham and others, appearing to celebrate the works. But what this newsletter didnβt disclose is what we've now uncovered:
π Both councillors have declared links to the very drainage board they claim to be scrutinising.
π Cllr Ian Bint (Conservative)
π Register of Interests β North Lincolnshire Council
He states:
βNLC representative to the Isle of Axholme and North Nottinghamshire Water Level Management Boardβ
π Cllr Julie Reed (Conservative)
π Main Register of Interests β North Lincolnshire Council
π Register of Interests β Crowle & Ealand Town Council
She declares membership of:
βIsle of Axholme North Notts Drainage Boardβ
In other words: both councillors hold formal positions in the very body involved in the project they are supposedly βscrutinisingβ. This raises serious questions about transparency, accountability, and whether residents' concerns were ever being given a fair hearing.
π If you agree that this looks like a clear conflict of interest, please share this petition and ask others to sign. We deserve proper scrutiny β not silence.
