🎭 Flags, Hypocrisy, and Reform UK: You Couldn’t Make It Up! 🚩
If They Can’t Get Flags Straight, How Will They Handle the Country?
13 May 2025:
You couldn’t make this up. Reform UK bans regional flags, then a Reform UK candidate poses proudly next to one. Welcome to the flag-waving paradox that proves our recent blog post — “Reform UK: The Party That Banned Lincolnshire’s Own Flag” wasn’t satire — it was a spoiler.
In that post, we explored the symbolism (and the selective censorship) at the heart of Reform UK’s political branding.
Central to this was the public statement made by Zia Yusuf, Reform UK’s local government spokesman, who told The Telegraph that if elected:
“Only the Union flag or the flag of England should be flown. Woke flags and virtue-signalling have no place on council buildings.”
That means no rainbow flags.
No Black Lives Matter banners.
And — in case anyone was still unsure — no regional flags like the Lincolnshire flag either.
So imagine our surprise when we saw this recent post from Andrea Jenkyns, Mayor Of Greater Lincolnshire and Reform UK party figure, proudly posing next to... the Lincolnshire flag. (click to see the post)

In her previous post, Andrea wrote:
“The only flags I’ll allow on council buildings are the Union flag and the Lincolnshire flag.”
Well. That’s awkward.
❓ So, which is it?
Has Andrea Jenkyns just publicly contradicted her own party’s national policy?
Or is this just another example of flexible flag-waving — where the rules shift depending on the PR photo op?
Because it can’t be both. Either Reform UK is against regional flags... or it's not.
You can’t ban the Lincolnshire flag from Reform rallies, while also using it in Facebook posts to boost your local credibility.
Unless, of course, the whole flag policy was never about consistency — just control.
📌 A Reminder
This isn’t about fabric. It’s about messaging, identity, and how symbols are selectively weaponised for political convenience.
Reform UK says they stand for straight-talking, patriotic common sense.
But when even their own candidates can’t follow the official line — you start to see the branding for what it is: a costume, not a conviction. And when even the flags become confusing, maybe the message isn’t as clear as they’d like you to think.
Oh, and Zia — you might want to give Andrea a quick call. 📞
You couldn’t make it up. 🙄
💥 Scrutiny is not a smear.
💥 Accountability is not an attack.
💥 Integrity is tested — not assumed.
